My New $40,000.00 TV

That's right--this thing is so posh only a debut author who has sold her soul could afford it.
All 85 inches of sheer awesomeness now wrap my front room* in masterful media so powerful it will blow the collector away when he comes to reposes my soul...er, visit for tea.

*No, I don't actually own this TV. BUT I SHOULD. LOL!

Ahem, so I stumbled across this masterpiece, and I just had to share. If you need a chuckle, check out the reviews HERE.

A sneak peak of what you'll find:

"At first I hesitated to make the purchase, but then I saw the two AA batteries were free with the remote, and I was all in!"

"We got this beauty to replace the bridge's main viewscreen after the last time Sulu traded paint with the Excelsior."

"Although pricey, this beautiful hammock stand is very sturdy and will endure harsh weather and horse bites. Note that the lonely tree landscape it's not real but i get enough of those already, so it's fine."

"My wife and I bought this after selling our daughter Amanda into white slavery. We actually got a refurbished. It's missing the remote, but oh well-- for $10K off, I can afford a universal, right? The picture is amazing. I've never seen the world with such clarity.

Amanda, if you're reading this, hang in there, honey! We'll see you in a year."

See what I mean? Go have a chuckle. And happy Friday. What creative spin would you take on a review?

Do you love Lord of the Rings? I do. We saw the first one in the theater probably 4 times. Anyhow, I am always astounded by the wisdom of hobbits--their focus on family, home, and of course, food.

Well, here's a bit of hobbit wisdom I feel like spouting every Monday.

Happy Friday!

Funny Friday:

I LOVE Indiana Jones. The only thing that could make him more awesome would be adding a little Jackie Chan action. --Or maybe a little Zen...as in Kanze Zenjiro.

And since I'm such a huge fan of action, today I have the privilege of revealing Jay Noel's BRAND SPANKIN NEW COVER. Lucky me! Are you ready for this awesomeness?

DRUM ROLL!

The Mechanica Wars: Savage Machines Are Afoot...

At the age of twenty, Kanze Zenjiro's bloody footprints mark the bodies of those who stood in his way to protect the throne of Nihon. Now, the tyrannical Iberian Empire is bent on destroying his kingdom, and they send their steam-powered giants and iron spiders against him.

Zen embarks on a quest that takes him on the most dangerous journey of his life. To succeed, Zen must live up to his nickname, the Dragonfly Warrior, and kill all his enemies with only a sword and a pair of six-guns. He is called upon to somehow survive a test of faith and loyalty in a world so cruel and merciless, it borders on madness.

Dragonfly Warrior is a steampunk adventure like no other. It's a dynamic mix of Asian and European mythology, the Wild West, martial arts, traditional fantasy, and high powered steam action that will keep you turning the pages.

Dragonfly Warrior is the first book of The Mechanica Wars, and will debut on January 6, 2014.

Funny Friday with M. Gerrick

Hi friends! Today's Funny Friday goes out to you word nerds and is brought to you by M. Gerrick, who is celebrating the release of her brand spankin' new fantasy, The Vanished Knight. (I can't wait to read it!)

And now on to the ha-ha. Take it away, M. Gerrick!

My feeling while editing:

Enough said.

Short and sweet, thank you!

M. Gerrick (AKA Misha Gericke) has basically created stories since before she could write. Many of those stories grew up with her and can be seen in her current projects.

She lives close to Cape Town, with a view over False Bay and Table Mountain.

If you’d like to contact her, feel free to mail her at warofsixcrowns(AT)gmail(DOT)com, Circle her on Google Plus or follow her on TwitterIf you'd like to see her writer-side (beware, it's pretty insane), please feel free to check out her blog.

And now her awesome book--which I'm headed off to buy right now--how about you?

Since the death of her parents, Callan Blair has been shunted from one foster family to another, her dangerous secret forcing the move each time. Her latest foster family quickly ships her off to an exclusive boarding school in the Cumbrian countryside. While her foster-brother James makes it his mission to get Callan expelled, a nearby ancient castle holds the secret doorway to another land...

When Callan is forced through the doorway, she finds herself in the magical continent of Tardith, where she’s shocked to learn her schoolmates Gawain and Darrion are respected soldiers in service to the king of Nordaine, one of Tardith's realms. More than that, the two are potential heirs to the Black Knight—Nordaine's crown prince.

But when the Black Knight fails to return from a mysterious trip, the realm teeters on the brink of war. Darrion and Gawain set out to find him, while Callan discovers there is more to her family history than she thought. The elves are claiming she is their princess.

Now with Darrion growing ever more antagonistic and her friendship with Gawain blossoming, Callan must decide whether to stay in Nordaine—where her secret grows ever more threatening—or go to the elves and uncover the truth about her family before war sets the realms afire.

Random Facts

So I skipped Funny Friday? Did you notice?

Well I did it on purpose. Yup. I wasn't just being lazy.

Actually I was saving the funny for a very special day. See, today is my very wonderful New Yorker's birthday, and since he's the funniest person I know, I thought I'd share him with you.

Meet Random.

Yes, that's his name, and yes, he's aptly named. It was inspiration. He is a joy, and the most mischievous thing I've ever met. He has to know exactly how things work, and once he's decided he must have or do something, not even a wild pack of hyenas can stop him. He's broken our LCD TV, two leather recliners, my fridge door, and more dishes than I care to count. If he didn't make me laugh so often, he might not be breathing.

Without further ado, let's bring on the funny, eh?

Random Sayings:
"Remember when three used to be my favorite color?"

"Dad, did you know honey is really bee barf?"

"If I see an evil dirty, I'll punch it in the face by cleaning."

"Well, I think I have the candy fever."

"Mom, when I grow up my job is going to be a Math Ninja." --And he meant literally someone who fights math equations.

Dad says, "What do you boys want for lunch?"
Older brother says, "Peace of mind."
Random perks up. "You want to eat a piece of brain?!?"

"Zombies are my favorite monster because they can't swear."

Dad said something about not performing science experiments without Mom's supervision. Random's jaw dropped. "Mom has super vision?!?"

"Mom, Dad, when I was upstairs I tripped on nature. Yup, I tripped on air. Or maybe a shadow."

He hands his dad a torn up piece of construction paper. "Dad, I made this for you. It's a zombie hippo." After a confused look from his father, he says nonchalantly, "I made it artistically."

And to wrap it all up nicely... "Mom, you're my BMF: best mother forever."

Kids are the best.
