It's been a while since I participated in any kind of blog hop. How about you? The magnanimous Melissa Maygrove has put together this wonderful little hop--to get to know new people AND win prizes! (Yay! We likes prizes!) It's not too late to sign up and play along. Check it out HERE.
And now, on to the fest...

Name: Crystal Collier *waves a wedge of cheese*
Fiction or nonfiction? FICTION
What genres do you write? Young Adult in sub genres of anything fantasy (historical, paranormal, speculative, urban, epic, romance, & horror), and light sci-fi. I periodically dabble in Middle Grade, and Adult.
Are you published? Check out the sidebar, baby. Yah! (The countdown is on.)
Do you do anything in addition to writing? I'm an orchestral/vocal composer and performer. In a past life I worked for a video/audio production studio and now freelance--when I feel like it. On an unrelated note, I'm also an educator. (Home school all the way!)
Where can people connect with you?
Blog: You're lookin' at it! I post Mondays with uplifting/motivational thoughts, Writerly Wednesdays (check out the tab above) with the Truth or Lie game and BOOK GIVEAWAYS, and Funny Fridays.

Cheese makes the world go round, and here's a wedge for you. ; )
LOL, you and your cheese! :P
ReplyDeleteI participate in blog hops sometimes, but often feel intimidated by them, heh. Thanks to this post, I'm now following you on Twitter and Tumblr! :) (My username is "edgyauthor" on Twitter and "ewingfan" on Tumblr, in case you're wondering who your crazy new followers are...)
Me and my cheese. ;)
DeleteYay--and thanks for the follows.
Yay! You're almost published. Love that your favorite genre to write in is fantasy like me.
ReplyDeleteI know--and I've got the head buzz to go with it. Fantasy rocks, eh?
DeleteCan you believe I've never been part of a blog hop? Crazy I know. Maybe I'll finally participate in one of these someday :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Crystal!
What? Never? That's insane. Jump on the train, eh? ;)
DeleteCrystal,
ReplyDeleteGood to meet you. Your page never finished loading so it wouldn't connect me to some of your links (twitter, FB). But I've got you on G+.
M.L. Swift, Writer
Ug. Computers aren't agreeing with me today. Great to meet you! Give me half a day and I'll be following back. ;)
DeleteYA writer/ composer/ cheese lover? Wow. This post is very insightful. Love it.
ReplyDeleteIf I was feeling particularly witty I'd whip out a joke about what cheese and music notes have to do with one another. Instead, I'll let you imagine one yourself. =D
DeleteYour experience in music is so interesting. I just put Moonless on my Goodreads TBR list!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Catherine. Actually, music is the other side of the coin--the back end of the stories I write, if you will. They fuel the emotion.
DeleteOrchestral/vocal composer? Too cool...
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love the giant piece of cheese.
All for you, my friend. ;)
DeleteHi Crystal! Good to get to know more about you. See you around the blogospere and CONGRATS on Moonless!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Natasha! And same to you, as of June.
DeleteI'm so glad you joined the fest!
ReplyDeleteStalking you now... :P
=) I'm so glad you hosted the fest!
DeleteYaY Crystal! *toot* *toot* So great to know more about your cheesemeister self! YaY for home school shout out! *toot* *toot* :-) Hey need a blog to add to a blog tour? I'm all yours if ya do. CONGRADS PAL!
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks, Robyn. It's a crazy journey for sure and I'll take all the help I can get.
DeleteI'm getting the distinct feeling that you like cheese. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm envious of all of your creative endeavors and so happy you'll be published in just 51 days. That's fast!
Jessie, you're telling me. *gulp*
DeleteAs long as it's not a cheese wedgie.
ReplyDelete*palm to forehead* Only you, Andrew. Only you. ;)
DeleteYeah, I know... I'm kind of terrible that way.
DeleteYou've got a new follower here - for the cheese if nothing else. Congrats on your up-coming release! May there be many more :)
ReplyDeleteThankee kindly. See, I lure people in with the cheese, then lock them into my human guinea pig cage so the scientists trapped in my basement can work uninhibited. ;P
DeleteHey Crystal! Nice to met you! Good luck to you and your upcoming release. Excited for you! Now off to get myself a slice of cheese...
ReplyDeleteHave a second slice for me too, eh? Or better yet, I'll go get me a slice. Mmm...
DeleteThat cheese looks too yummy!
ReplyDeleteI know, right?
DeleteI've been seeing this fest around--looks like fun! Happy to know I've already "met" you a bit here at least!
ReplyDelete=) It's a fun one.
DeleteNow I KNOW I haven't met you before - I'd remember the cheese! I love cheese, too. Really, food in general, but cheese is way up on that list. Congrats on the book!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz. Way up on the list means the best food on the planet, right? ;)
DeleteThis looks like a fun blog hop. May have to join in!!! Love your answers. :)
ReplyDeletePlease do! The more the merrier.
DeleteCheese! Grats on the book. Looking forward to seeing you online!
ReplyDeleteLikewise.
DeleteHi Crystal, good to meet you!
ReplyDeleteThe feeling is mutual.
DeleteSuch a great blogfest idea! I had no idea you were a vocal composer. How cool!
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss out on this great blogfest??? I had no idea it was on.
ReplyDeleteWell, you know now. It's not too late!
DeleteAnother blogfest that I missed. (I should stop writing my blog posts ahead. Or pay more attention to upcoming blogfests.)
ReplyDeleteLOL. I miss out on most of them too, Liz.
DeleteI'll make sure I am following you everywhere...
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks, Alex.
DeleteThanks, Crystal, for sharing. I'm staring at the calendar, hoping I can jump in!
ReplyDeleteI hope you do.
DeleteAudio/video production studio? Sounds like you're tailor made to produce book trailers. Have you done one for your book yet?
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you.
Working on it now, and yes, it definitely has helped in some regards.
DeleteSpeculative fiction? That's the stuff (though I might be a wee bit biased). Following you on Twitter, FB, and "liked" your Amazon page.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Aren't we all a little biased? Thanks for the follows, Milo!
DeleteCongratulations on your upcoming book! Awesome. And how do you know I LOVE cheese? Nice to meet you, Crystal. Thanks for stopping by at my blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm telepathic. (Shoot! Did I just type that out loud?)
DeleteGreat to meet you!
I don't know if I'll ever favor chocolate over cheese, though the "chocolate = salad" thing from your last entry cracked me up. ^_^
ReplyDeleteGlad to have added a smile to your day!
DeleteWhat a cheesy introduction...
ReplyDeleteKidding, kidding. I love it! :D
All for you, Carrie. ;)
Deletecongrats on your upcoming release, It's really nice to meet you :)
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you too, Joss!
DeleteI think it's great that you're a musician. You mentioned that you were involved with audio production. Did you ever do recordings? That's something I'd love to do! I'll go check out all your links!
ReplyDeleteYes, I have done several recordings, both with voice overs and as a soprano/alto. We've also recorded some of my choir arrangements and live duets/solos. I'm pretty shy about sharing my vocals though. They're floating the interwebs somewhere.
DeleteWhat's a Pirates favourite cheese? Chedd-AAAAAARGH
ReplyDeleteWhat's a lions favourite cheese? Roarrr-quefort
Everyone should eat more cheese. :D
LOL! And everyone should enjoy more cheese jokes. Awesome!
DeleteI saw the cheese wedge and worried you were a Packer fan.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a coincidence about cheese! My friends and I had a nerd night playing Settlers of Catan, and my boyfriend and I brought fancy cheese to snack on. LOVE IT!
When my hubby and I were poor and in college, we used to splurge by buying a bunch of new types of cheese and having a fest. Cheese makes for the best evenings.
DeleteCheeese cheeese cheeeeeese! Glad I brought some wine and crackers with me today ;)
ReplyDeleteYou must have listening to the cosmic news waves. ;)
Delete50 days! Not too much longer to wait ( : Congratulations on your upcoming book release. Looking forward to following and especially your motivational posts. Cheese=Happiness, totally agree. Time to crack open my box of Cheez-Its.
ReplyDeleteMmm. Cheez-Its... It must be dinner time or something.
DeleteI don't usually participate in blog hops. They more often than not confuse me.
ReplyDeletewww.modernworld4.blogspot.com
LOL. They can end up leaving your head spinning, but usually in a good way.
DeleteHey, Crystal,
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you in the Follow Fest. People who make music are awesome in my book!
As long as it's good music. ;)

ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy. You rock.

ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! I'm getting back around, slowly. That's the name of the game when you're sick, eh?
DeleteHi, Crystal. Glad to meet you.
ReplyDeleteGreat to meet you!
DeleteHey Crystal, stopping by from the Follow Fest to say hi, and it sounds like you're quite flexible with your genre choosing. I am as well, so I can appreciate it! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm also a singer, with my own "band" (really it's just me and a guy in California, and our laptops. Oh, and all his instruments with which he transforms my formerly very stripped-back demos).
