Bizarre News You Never Wanted to Know

The disadvantage of posting only once a week is the build up of exciting things happening on the web, like:

new UFO sighting in Paris.

The hunt for the serial-toe-sucker in Arkansas.

120 donkeys making the flight from Hawaii to LA WITHOUT jet lag. (I know, right?)

And AC/DC getting their own wine label. (I don't drink, but everyone says you're supposed to have wine with your cheese...)
Of course, while all of this is terribly exciting and productive *ahem* I have some news of my own. One of my fantabulous bloggy friends has awarded me a blog award. *jumping for joy*

Thank you to Claire Hennessy for the Leibster blog award! What a great, funny, spunky writer she is. Her flash fiction piece won a people's choice award in a recent contest--a well deserved award. Check her out!

And now to business.
1. Show your appreciation to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
2. Reveal your five picks with 200 or less followers and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3. Post the award on your blog.
4. Bask in the camaraderie of the most supportive people on the internet other writers.
5. And best of all have bloggity fun and spread the love.

My five are:

1. Barbara V. Evers: such a motherly heart, and I love, love, LOVE reading her blog.
2. Jaleta Clegg: Jaleta writes Sci-fi. We've been rubbing shoulders for a while now, and when her inner science nerd comes out to play (which is all the the time) I can't help but giggle. You rock Jaleta!
3. Larissa: We Floridians have to stick together, you know. =) She hangs out more on twitter, and I very much enjoy her tweets.
4. Leisha Maw: Such a fresh and honest voice. Her stories make me smile.
5. Loralie Hall: For not only having such a cute blog, but filling it with worthy content.

So, what news do you have to report? Tried any new cheeses this week? And will you be riding a non-jet-lagged donkey out to buy the new AC/DC brand wine?

  1. Congrats on the award! Well-deserved!

I loved your news oddities, especially about the donkey...

  2. Congrats on the Liebster.

No donkey riding or cheese eating here. I would drink the wine, though I wonder if it has a metallic aftertaste?

  3. The toe-sucker thing is crazy! Some people amaze me.

    Congrats on the award!

  4. Oooh, I'm totally getting me some AC/DC wine!!! Congrats on your Liebster.

  5. Congrats on your award!

Is it wrong that I love donkeys? I find them so cute.

  6. Congrats on your cool award.

Donkeys not getting jet lag? pfft! ;)

  7. Congrats on the award!!!! and to those you've passed it on to. Rah! And ha, had to cringe and laugh at the same time about the toe-sucker.

  8. That's quite a lot of exciting news for one week! Congrats on the award.

  9. Love the AC/DC wine...and cheese, lol. I have to try that just so I can have one of the bottles at the end of the evening.

And thank you so much for the award! ^_^

  10. Congrats Crystal! And that's hilarious -- donkeys, ACDC wine. What next?

  11. Thanks so much for the blog award! :)

I hope to be on my blog more often if I ever get internet at home. LOL.

  12. Congratulations on the award! And thanks for letting me know about the AC/DC wine - DH's Christmas present, sorted :-)

  13. Yes, to the new cheese this week. How does Smokey Brie sound? Tell me before I open the package.

    Great award. Congrats.

  14. Shamefully, I'm not a huge fan of Brie. *ducking for flying pies* It's good with the right crackers and fruits though, and smokey flavor? That's sounds good.

  15. Crystal, Thank you so much for the award. I promise I'm not ignoring it, especially after you said such nice things about my blog, I've had a lot on my plate this week, but I will definitely get my award post up. It probably won't be until next week, though, since I have to work on my challenge. Yikes!

Thanks again for saying that you love my blog. That was worth more than learning that you gave me the award.

  16. Congrats on the award. :)

Unfortunately I haven't tried any new cheese this week, but I was thinking some regular cheese would be good anyway.

Hit me with your cheese!
