Do you have a birthday season?
We have a birthday season. Once the middle of September hits, it's crazy until the end of the year. So for the next couple months I'll be doing this:
Hey, wish me happy birthday for Monday, eh? (I'll even take cheese from strangers.) Best birthday gift ever? Book purchases and reviews. Just sayin'...
Last week Jessie Andersen shared with us THE BREEDING TREE, along with two truths and a lie. Those who guessed the lie correctly were entered into a random drawing for the chance to win her eBook. Her stories are a little long, so they've been condensed to their titles here.
Jessie's Game:
THE LIE: #1. It's a true story, but it didn't happen to Jessie.
Way to guess everyone! And the winner is:
...DRUM ROLL...
And now for this week's feature...
In order to help Liam and his twin sister, Anna, leave their earthly limbo and cross over into the light, Caitlin must find the ghost of Anna’s fiancĂ©. But a malevolent spirit is dead set against Anna moving on. Now Caitlin will have to unravel the mystery surrounding the twins’ past lives in order to keep Liam’s spirit safe—even if it means sacrificing her heart in the process.
Sandra gave me two truths and one lie to test your "lie detector" skills. Those who figure out the lie will go into my magic hat for the chance to win an eBook of THE CRYSTAL (in honor of me *grin*) in either eBook or print, winners choice.
You have until Tuesday, October 6 at 1 p.m. EDT to guess. Be sure to come back for the answers on October 7.
TRUTH OR LIE
1. I got the idea for Ghost For Sale when I heard on the news a ghost was up for sale on eBay.
2. I was born in Ky, my husband in IL, my daughter in OH and my son in WI.
3. I broke a leg trying to climb Mt. Everest.
2. I was born in Ky, my husband in IL, my daughter in OH and my son in WI.
3. I broke a leg trying to climb Mt. Everest.
So sleuths, which is the lie? Do you love ghost stories? Romances? Got a book you want to send me for my birthday? ; ) Or cheese?
Enjoy all the birthdays the next couple months.
ReplyDeleteSandra, I'm going to say the first one is the lie.
Hi Alex,
DeleteGood guess. We'll see:)
Happy birthday! Yep, our birthday season starts now, too. Let's celebrate and enjoy it all! :)
ReplyDeleteLots of happy birthdays all around! I'm going with the ghost for sale on eBay as being the truth...because people these days are just silly enough to do something like that!
ReplyDeleteLaugh. Can't argue with that.
DeleteHappy birthday, Crystal! *hands you a mountain of cheese*
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, I don't have a birthday season. All the birthdays I have to keep track of are all pretty evenly spaced apart! (I barely know any people, though, so that's probably why, haha.) Good luck not getting overwhelmed by the onslaught of birthdays on your side of the 'net!
Happy all the upcoming birthdays! Hmm, I must have your book already? No? What on earth was I thinking? *runs to Amazon*
ReplyDeleteI'll say #3 is the lie...
Good guess, Deniz. We'll see:)
DeleteHappy Birthday, Crystal! Enjoy all your other birthdays too.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY, MS. CRYSTAL.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting me. Your place is always fun:)
Message for you at my place.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! And I think number 3 is a lie. At least I hope it is. Ouchie!
ReplyDeleteHi TBM, Good guess...We'll see:)
Delete#3 Mt. Everest. Happy Birthday season. With our large family we have birthdays every season.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing, Susan:)
DeleteHi Crystal and Sandra ... I'd say #3 ... I'm sure a ghost is for sale on ebay - they'd put themselves there ... and with 51 States to chose from ... easy to move around for baby births ... albeit some years apart. Crystal your newbie bucked the trend I seem to remember ... but enjoy those party times ahead ... and if I came I'd bring a book on cheese ... all the little details. Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing, Hilary. Good guesses from everyone.
DeleteOur birthday season for my side of the family has started too. Have a wonderful birthday! (Yours is on Monday? Mine too!) I love the idea of a ghost for sale. I will guess the lie is #3.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christine! And thanks for playing:)
DeleteHappy Early Birthday, Crystal!!!
ReplyDeleteOur Birthday Season starts in April with birthdays every two weeks until the end of June.
Ghost For Sale sounds really interesting! Hmm...#3 for the lie?
Thanks, Crystal!
DeleteWe'll see......
:)
Happy birthday on Monday!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Almost Birthday! I think birthday season for us starts in Oct and then continues until Dec 28 which is my dad's bday. My birthday is in Feb so it's a lone ranger, lol. I love cheese. I struggle to give it up occasional and then find my way back. Ghost For Sale is so clever!I think #3 is a lie and I'm hoping that if it is true that we find out how the hell it happened! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shaharoh.
DeleteI'm smiling here:)
Oh, I know it. We have 3 birthdays in the next month (mine included). Bring on the ghost stories! :)
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteMy birthday and my brother's birthday are in December, my little girl's birthday is in January and my other's in in March. So I guess those are my busy months, plus November because of Thanksgiving and Nano. Best of luck in your birthday season!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! :) I am all in favor of celebrating my birthday for at least a week, if not nearly a month. After all, it only comes once a year. I think you should do the same. I'll write you a note so the kids will be in the loop.
ReplyDeleteYes, we have a birthday stretch in October. It also has two anniversaries, including our own. Fun but busy times!
First off-Happy Birthday! I had a ton in May and ending in June but October is another busy month. I shall say you did not break your leg while climbing Mt. Everest
ReplyDeleteHi Birgit!
DeleteHope you have a wonderful birthday and fun season with lots of yummy cheese! October is one of our busy birthday months...starting with mine. Thanks again for stopping by! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! May you get lots of cheese on your special day. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a happy birthday! All the best with birthday season. The big parties always scare me.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Diane! I just love ghost stories and Sandra's sounds awesome! Wishing her much success with her romantic ghost story! Also wishing you had a wonderful birthday!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Lexa.
DeleteI'm thinkin' no. 3 is the lie, and I'm going to go check out this story, it sounds good, even though I can't see it having a "happy" ending... Maybe Sandra will prove me wrong!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Lisa.
DeleteNever rule out happy endings:)
And Happy Birthday! I just had mine on the 19th!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Crystal!!
ReplyDelete(December is our family's crazy birthday month, which is rough with Christmas on top of all that.)
Sandra's ghost story sounds wonderful--I wish I didn't have a TBR pile that was already too high.
Thank you, Connie. I know how the TBR's are.
DeleteWishing you a very happy birthday and a big birthday CHEESE cake. :D
ReplyDeleteI know I am late, but Happy Birthday!! Once November hits there is a kids birthday ever other month then April is my wife's. So yeah busy half of the year.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Birthday season is October and June. It's weird how they clump together. Congrats to Sandra! I'll guess #3 is the lie.
ReplyDeleteThanks, M:)
DeleteI think number 2 is the lie. I think she could have climbed Everst. I can see the determination in her eyes!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. A birthday season? Never thought of it like that. We do have everyone close together November through July so it is more like the whole year.
Thank you, Kat. I love that:)
DeleteHappy Birthday, Crystal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteThe birthday season in my family is summer. There's 3 birthday in June.
You know me, I adore ghost stories. And Ghost For Sale sounds really cute! I like to think that a ghost really was for sale on eBay (almost everything is) so I'll say #3 is the lie.
Hi,Chrys:)
DeleteThanks:)
Congrats to Sandra! I think number 3 is the lie or so I hope and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tammy:)
DeleteHappy birthday for Monday! September/October is birthday season in my family, too.
ReplyDeleteOkay, Crystal. I think I went in the wrong direction. Blush Blush. Is your bday...last Monday or this coming Monday?
ReplyDeleteComing. Reading comprehension is very different from person to person.
DeleteMy birthday was Sunday, Crystal. We're happy birthday chicks! :-) My family is Nov. through Jan. with the birthdays. UGH. Right at Christmas too. The ghost story sounds ghostly ghastly. Is number 1 the lie?? Huh? :-)
ReplyDeleteUsed to be all the birthdays were spread out through the year. Then my brother's brood ended up all being born about the same time (middle nephew and the twins within a week of each other), so May got really busy.
ReplyDeleteLie... #3...
Hope you have a wonderful birthday! And September is birthday season in my family--thankfully over now (or my wallet couldn't handle any more). I'm going for #2 as the lie.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Do something fun on your day; you deserve it. And I think it'd be interesting to meet ghosts, especially ones from different time periods; I think it'd be fun to hear them talk about what their lives were like and then see the looks on their faces when I show them what my life is like (technological devices, etc.).
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Oct and Nov have many b-day to celebrate.Hubby kid and 2 grand kids. June is my b-day month. That book sound like it would make a great movie too. I love story's like that. Thank you for stopping by my blog too. .
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of buying ghosts off Ebay! It wouldn't surprise me if that was true. Half the stuff on there seems to be "haunted" these days.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!
I could swear I remember a story about a ghost for sale on ebay, but I may be imagining it. Hrm. Let's see, I'll say the lie is #3.
ReplyDeleteMy family has a couple birthday seasons. August to the beginning of December, then February to March, then May to June. Basically, we just celebrate birthdays constantly around here!
I'm no good at these 2 truths and a lie!
ReplyDeleteI'm always thrilled to get a book or book store GC. Cheese is for all days of the year! For our extended family, the spring is our big birthday season.
Happy birthday!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Sandra. I'll say number 3 is a lie, but they all sound like they could be lies. lol
Happy, Happy Birthday Crystal... have a fun season of birthdays ahead... I hope your day is extra special xoxo
ReplyDeleteHello and happy Birthday wishes to you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! We do have a birthday season. For us it begins August 31 with my son, then it's my husband's and my daughter's in September. In the midst of all that commotion is our wedding anniversary.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! We do have a birthday season. For us it begins August 31 with my son, then it's my husband's and my daughter's in September. In the midst of all that commotion is our wedding anniversary.
ReplyDeleteYay to Diane! And a very (early) Happy Birthday to you! We have a birthday season too. Ours is June - August and then another round during the holidays. It feels endless. Hope yours is awesome and you get lots o' cheese!!
ReplyDeleteBirthday season for me falls during the holiday season - November thru December! Talk about busy!!!!
ReplyDeleteOur birthday season is a week starting December 22. My birthday is the last one on the 28th. Guess whose birthday always sucks. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday for Monday!
Happy, Happy Birthday Crystal. Congratulations to Diane.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! (And many mooore...) Between our kids, their spouses, and thirteen grandchildren, birthday season is pretty much year-round for us. :)
ReplyDeleteA story about buying ghosts on e-bay has a lot of potential for humor. Sounds like my kinda book. I wish Sandra much luck with it.
Okay, let's go for number three as the lie this time.
Happy Birthday! :) We have those seasons too - it's funny how clumpy birthdays can get :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Season!!! Hope you have lots of cheese!
ReplyDeleteAnd, congrats to Sandra!
July is the birthday month in our family -- and July starts on June 30th when my nephew has his birthday. Then my father on July 5, my brother on July 6, and my husband on July 8.
ReplyDeleteMy birthday season starts this month, at least I kick it off with my own kids :D
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful birthday, Crystal!
And congrats to Sandra! What will Caitlin do??? Sure sounds like a fun read! Oh, I think #3 is the lie :)
Yeah funny how you tend to get several birthdays all around the same time. Hope you enjoy the fun and Happy Birthday to you . . . will there be cheese (cake)?
ReplyDeleteI think 3 is the lie. Congrats to Diane.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful birthday.
Hope your birthday is fantastic! Also, I hope the birthday season is fun and filled with delicious cakes. :)
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see Sandra here! I am guessing the lie is #3.
~Jess
Happy Birthday, Crystal! I hope you enjoy some cheese along with your cake. Enjoy the crazy birthday season! That's how summer is for our family.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! ^_^
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Season! There's only one birthday at my pad in the fall. The rest of ours are in the summer.
ReplyDeleteThis post is over the top fun!

Happy (belated) birthday, Crystal! Hope you had a sparkly day. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going with #2 as the lie. :)
Happy Birthday! May you get all the cheese you asked for. Birthday season around here is in December. In fact, my wife's birthday is on Christmas. She always gets screwed over on that one.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!
ReplyDeleteI'll guess the lie is #2.
Happy Birthday! gee, that Anderson cover is sure creeptastic!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteBirthday season... I like the way THAT sounds!!! I wonder if I could make my birthday season last an entire year... and morph right into the next one?
That would be cool...
~shoes~
Loving the premise of GHOST FOR SALE! Happy Belated Birthday. Hope the cake was delish.
ReplyDeletehappy happy birthday!! Have ALL THE CHEESE :) and I am a BIG birthday nut. My mom always makes them super over the top, no matter how old we are. My dad isn't into birthdays at all but goes along with my mom..(he's a twin and his twin sis was a terror when they were kids and stole all of his presents for herself! so he's traumatized ha) but I love love love birthdays, and like to feel like a princess on mine!
