Cheese Begins with "G"

What? You don't believe me? Well YOU'RE wrong.

After a whole week off from the blog-o-sphere (almost), I'm back! AND I'm starting up a new set of memes: Motivational Mondays--come get your weekly dose of awesome, and Fun Fridays--because everyone needs cheese. Occasionally I might throw in a Wednesday for my writing friends/book reviews that are amazing fruit and deserve a bright, shiny spotlight.

And now on to business...

The other day I took a look through my facebook friends. I sat there, one happy memory after another bursting over me as I viewed face after face. I can't even remember how I became friends with some of them, but I love them all. My heart was filled with gratitude. =)

For those of you who were with me through the A-Z challenge (*waves*), you get that cheese is imperative to happiness, right? And that was my theme for the bloghop--How to Find Happiness from A-Z. (Check it out if you haven't. It was awesome.)

G is for Gratitude, and I issued a gratitude challenge to record 5 things a day you're grateful for, for 1 month. Did you try it? I did!

There's my list. =)

It seems I'm most grateful for family/relationships, technology, and cheese. (Surprise, surprise.)

What is it you found/find yourself most grateful for? And what are you grateful for today?

  1. Ha! I've been doing Motivational Mondays for...forever. I always hope others enjoy reading the positive posts as much as I enjoy writing them. Looking forward to yours! :)

  2. Aw, sweet, your gratitude as you looked over your FB friends. :) I feel the same way, and ditto about my bloggy friends. Today I'm grateful for a new computer--on sale! Got one this weekend...the old one kept freezing when I'd be working on a novel in Word. Annoying! So now I have enough memory to handle opening 2 documents, etc. Yay!

    1. LOL. Awesome. My hubby has promised me a new computer if I want one. I've got the same issue--the freezing up, except it takes a couple web browsers being up with a word document to freeze mine. Guess that means I still have a couple months, eh? ;)

  3. I've found that, like you, I'm most grateful for my family and friends. I have been really lucky to find and be surrounded by people who are amazing.

  4. They do say people who focus on gratitude are the happiest. And who isn't grate-ful for cheese? Oh, and family, too, I suppose. :D << cheesy smile.

  5. I'm grateful for everyday in which my world stays in tact [meaning family and friends]. Everything else is is manageable with those. Happy Monday!

  9. Nice idea :-) I popped back on here, I was just thinking, I kind of miss blogging, and all the folks I "met" !

Today I am grateful for the pileated woodpecker I heard this am, and the closeup view of a loon on the lake! I guess I can also be grateful I found the tick on me before it was well attached (gosh I hate them!)

    1. Aw! I know, right?

We should start a movement: people against ticks. Oh wait, that could be taken wrong...

  10. I'm particularly grateful that the A-Z challenge has finished!

I'm grateful for my friends both physical and virtual who bring me joy and companionship. :)

  11. Every day, I'm grateful for something else. Today I'm grateful for something that's a bit personal to share on a blog, that my voice is back to normal after the flu and that I'll be seeing Bon Jovi live tonight. As for the other two, it's only 10:45 a.m. ;-P

    1. Yay! I know how that is--the voice thing. I had a whole 2 years after high school when my voice was dead for overuse. It almost killed me. =)

Hope you have a blast at Bon Jovi!

  12. Thanks for the hunks of cheese you left me, they were good last night with my wine. lol

A meme for Monday...hum might give that some thought, making a note, cause I doubt I'll remember.

Gratitude, I think if folks could focus on things like that, positive things everyone would be happier, and accomplish more. Idle hands is the devils workshop as they say.

    1. Yeah--so why is it so stinkin' easy to get stuck in a negative mental loop, eh? I guess because people don't eat enough cheese. =D

  13. Hey Crystal: I'm grateful for my husband, my children, the gospel, my testimony, my friends, writing, and awesome tasting cheese. Oh I'm grateful I didn't find my name on the obituary list today, and that I share the name, Collier (a great name). Of course, that is my maiden name. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to be grateful. You are right about the hurricanes, and I'm moving over the next month, sadly off the island, but only two minutes from the beach. At least I won't have to evacuate every time a Tropical Storm comes this way. Even still, I will miss the beach life, but we are purchasing our own home, so that does have its pluses. It was nice talking to you again.

    1. What an awesome list--and I'll give you props, Collier is a pretty darn stellar name. =D

It's hard to leave the beach life behind, eh? We were 3 blocks away in NYC (the area that got devastated recently), and while I don't miss much of the city culture, I did love the beach.

  14. That's a sizable list! I'm grateful for so many things too: my family, my family's health, my health, my house, community, friends, cat, writing friends, and so on. If I listed every single person who is important to me, this would be one fat paragraph.

As far as G for Cheese, I'm thinking Gouda.

  18. I especially am excited for your inspirational Mondays. I could always use a little more inspiration. I love that you explained why cheese is essential to happiness, and now every time you mention cheese, I think of that. I had good intentions to do the grateful challenge, but sadly, I forgot. Sigh. I need to try it again.
