Opposition=Awesome Stories, or Babies Crushing Babies

Got you to look? GOOD. So this is the end of my new cover reveal. Sweet, right? (You're sitting there wondering what I'm talking about, or glad my posts will suddenly disappear from your feed.) I've got a mind blowing thought for you today, but first...

A HUGE shout and thank you to all the wonderful people helping to share my new cover today: Juenta Key, Marcy Hatch, Christine Rains, Bish Denham, and Lynda Young

And now it's funny time:

So I found this while looking up "funny time memes." It probably doesn't appeal to you as a time meme, and you may not even think it's funny--in which case you need to spend more time with babies.

But this totally says "TIME" to me.

Let me explain.

In the Maiden of Time series, there can only be one to govern the flow of time--meaning if twins with the gift to manipulate time were born...well, you get the idea. What if this was the case in reality? There could only be one person of any particular skill or expertise? How sad a world would that be? How much amazing diversity would we lack? How many twists and alternatives would we lose?

Celebrate your uniqueness and know that no matter what you feel on the bad days, you are a valuable addition to the human race.

Oh, and let's count our blessings that ONLY in fiction can people alter the timeline.

*sneaks down to the basement for a quick ride in the time machine*

TIME IS THE ENEMY

In 1771, Alexia had everything: the man of her dreams, reconciliation with her father, even a child on the way. But she was never meant to stay. It broke her heart, but Alexia heeded destiny and traveled five hundred years back to stop the Soulless from becoming.

In the thirteenth century, the Holy Roman Church has ordered the Knights Templar to exterminate the Passionate, her bloodline. As Alexia fights this new threat—along with an unfathomable evil and her own heart—the Soulless genesis nears. But none of her hard-won battles may matter if she dies in childbirth before completing her mission.

Can Alexia escape her own clock?

  3. Rather than spend time with babies, I'll just take your word for it.

The movie Highlander comes to mind.

  4. Happy to host you today! Like Diane, I thought of the Highlander too.

  5. I've signed up for your tour! Didn't the series Fringe deal with alternate universes and doppelgangers that clashed from time to time?

    1. Thanks, Bish! I didn't watch Fringe. It just felt off to me, but I heard it was pretty trippy.

I've been around to a lot of places where your cover is revealed. Very nice, Crystal.

  13. That picture reminds me of the time I locked my sister in a wardrobe and tried to suck the air out with the vacuum cleaner… It didn't work, but I did manage to tip the wardrobe over she she was stuck inside until someone strong enough to lift it back up could rescue her.

  14. Your new book has been popping up all over the blogosphere, and that cover is absolutely GORGEOUS! I'd be happy to give your book a shout-out on my blog in November. (That cover of yours will add some much-needed class... )

  15. Now, that's an interesting what if question. I may have to "borrow" it.

  16. Time to alter the timeline! Fictionally. I've seen that meme before and it is hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I think it is a blessing that time cannot be altered, we could really mess up our lives that way... xox

I think I like your idea of 10 minutes a day for some sort of exercise to start, I am with you there Crystal xox

  18. That picture sums up sibling rivalry! So glad my sis is now one of my dearest friends! :)
I'm also very glad that time can not be altered. Bradbury's story about the butterfly effect still haunts me.

And I am happy to host you on my blog. Just message me on FB to set it up.

  25. I have seen that baby picture before, and, having twins of my own, it always cracks me up. When we went to back to school night, one of my twins had drawn a picture of his family and it was me, my husband, and him. He left out BOTH of his brothers. My husband and I thought it was hilarious.

    1. GOOD. Honestly, sometimes people are just too sensitive. We have to be able to laugh at the stupid (and innocent) things that happen in life.

  41. That sign up dealy is cool. I'll have to learn from you! My twin niece and nephew have had a few of these moments. I love the diversity in humanity, though sometimes I get so frustrated with certain things that are different than how I do them. I wish we could all love the differences in each other.
